Time to Celebrate!

As mentioned in my last post, I'm planning a little party to celebrate the New Year!

Oh, but what shall I wear??? Well, most likely jeans and a cute top, as I am a Plain Jane... but if I were really daring...

It's time for our countdown to the New Year!!!
Holiday Card
Can you believe that 2012 is almost here? I remember sitting in the driveway with my friends on the eve of 2000 wondering if the world would end as people had predicted. Then again, we were in middle school and were too busy making sure we looked good to notice or care! Now it's almost twelve years later, and I'm grateful for how far God has carried me and how much I've grown. :)

Now 2009 didn't end with a bang either. Gino, Dominick, Holly (my husband and his siblings), and I were watching The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian- ya know, a great winter movie. Next, Holly announced: "It's one minute 'til the new year!" So we paused the movie. Counted down. "Happy New Year everybody!" And pushed play. Haha!

So this year... I'm thinking we celebrate! Perhaps a little shindig? Here's some great inspiration...

So what about you? Do you have any plans to bring in the new year? Any good ideas?

The Reason for the Season

Although it's fun to decorate and dress up and go to parties and to give presents... it's also a time to reflect on the Reason for the season... that being the birth of Jesus Christ- the Hero, the Savior to this earth.
Jesus.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them,
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
{Luke 2: 8-14}
Our Hope

Let us remember the Master that we serve. Yes, He gives us innumberable blessings: the home, the car, the money to buy presents, the winter air, the heater, the stockings and christmas tree... but God has given us something Greater... Himself.

So, let's keep our eyes focused on HIM throughout the year, and give special thanks to him during the holidays. Give Him the best gift...

In His Love,
Kaela

Winter is Here! Let's Decorate!

It's about that time to get out the Christmas decorations from the attic and start decorating! Although my husband isn't as enthusiastic as me about hanging lights for the first time on our new home, I'm sure he'll be full of the Christmas spirit when he's sipping the hot chocolate I make for him as a thank-you.

Here are some other great decorations to inspire that Christmas spirit!
